President's Message
Greetings. It is my honour to serve as President of the Society for a second term, the first having been in 2014/15. The Grenville County Historical Society was the first volunteer organization I joined in 2010, shortly after moving to Prescott. My family roots run deep in Prescott but I also have had a long interest in history so the opportunity to focus in on one area appealed to me. In the intervening years since I have been a member of the Society, I have taken a particular interest in creating historical plaques to mark spots in Grenville County that are of particular historical significance.
Being on the executive I also have had opportunities to address groups interested in our local history. I would encourage anyone interested in learning about their family roots in Grenville County or the history of the area to drop in on Tuesdays to explore our archives when we are open and ready to assist... or to send us an e-mail/voicemail concerning any questions you might have. We will be updating this website frequently so feel free to consult it on a regular basis to learn of our latest developments.
Fraser Laschinger, President.
